The course will be held at Kantonsspital Winterthur, Departement of Radiation Oncology, Brauerstrasse 15, 8401 Winterthur. Depending on the pandemic situation in May 2022, the theoretical part of the course may be held virtually.
On behalf of the course director Dr. Gerd Lutters and his team from Medical Physics KSA, SRO is organizing the radiation protection course, which is mandatory to successfully obtain Swiss board certification as Specialist Radiation Oncologist (WBO/PFG, Art 2.2.2) (see SIWF DE, SIWF FR)
This course is held every year. All of you who would like to obtain Swiss board certification as Specialist Radiation Oncologist in the near future should attend this course. You should have been in training for at least two years and have a good understanding of basic medical physics to benefit. All participants preparing for board certification will have to attend the SRO radiation protection course and do homework relating to radiation protection prior and after the course. Successful completion of homework is mandatory to receive the certifcate.
This course is also open to already board certified radiation oncologists as a refresher (no home work!).
Please note that the SRO radiation protection course is intended for trainees in radiation oncology / radiation therapy only.
The course fee is CHF 500, to be paid in advance. Registration will be effective only after payment of the course fee.
